What's New: Login
We’re modernizing our mobile banking app to help customers have the best experience while keeping access simple and secure.
The first time you log in to our new experience, a secure browser window will appear. You’ll need to enter your User ID and Password.
If you have an iPhone®:
Step 1: Tap 'Continue'
Step 2: Enter your User ID and tap 'Continue' to enter your Password and log in.
If you have an Android®:
Step 1: Enter your User ID and tap ‘Continue’ to enter your Password and log in.
You’ll need to log in with your User ID and password the first time you visit the updated experience. Then you can set up facial or fingerprint recognition after your first login.
If you have an iPhone®:
- Tap ‘Menu’ in the top left corner
- Tap on ‘App Settings’
- Choose ‘Face ID’
If you have an Android®:
- Tap ‘Menu’ in the top left corner
- Tap on ‘Settings’
- Choose ‘Fingerprint Login’
You can get help with your User ID and reset your password at mtb.com/reset.
To unlock your account, reset your password at mtb.com/reset and then login with your updated credentials.
Troubleshooting FAQs
Yes. In order to use the mobile banking app, you must first be an Online Banking customer.
Step 1: Make sure your device’s software is up to date
For the best M&T Mobile App experience, we recommend the latest versions of:
- iOS for our Apple® app
- Android OS for our AndroidTM app
Go to Settings, install any available updates, then close and reopen the app and try again.
Step 2: Reinstall or clear app data
For Android devices: Uninstall and reinstall the M&T Mobile app.
- To uninstall: Settings > Apps (or Application Manager) > M&T Bank App > Uninstall
- To reinstall: Open the Google Play® Store > search for M&T Bank App > Install
For Apple devices: Close the M&T Bank app, then clear its data.
- To close the app: Double click the home button, then swipe side-by-side through your open apps and swipe the M&T Bank app upward to close it.
- To clear data: Settings > M&T Bank > turn on Clear All App Data
If that does not solve the problem, please call Online and Mobile Banking Customer Service at 1-800-790-9130, Monday–Friday, 8am–9pm ET and Saturday–Sunday, 9am–5pm ET.
Ensure the M&T Bank app is closed by double clicking the home button. If it’s not closed, swipe side-by-side through your open apps and swipe the M&T Bank app upward to close it. Then go to Settings > select M&T Bank > toggle on the Clear All App Data option.
